During the winter months of 2016 the longstanding idea of creating a one day fest in Adelaide that's dedicated to traditional forms of Heavy Metal was put into motion. Inspired by the great Australian festivals such as Steel Assassins - True Metal Festivals, Stormrider Touring & Legions of Steel Festival it was time for McEwen Management to really wield the steel in the 'City of Churches' and start an annual event to support Trad/Speed/Power/Prog/Thrash and the Melodic sides of Metal so CHURCHES OF STEEL was born.
